
The internships are designed to give Scripps students exposure to the fields of art handling, collections management and conservation. Thanks to the generosity of Jane ’64 and Michael Wilson, the Gallery will hire two Wilson Art Administration Interns for the 2022-23 academic year. In 2022-2023, internships continue throughout the academic year. Field trips with former Director Mary MacNaughton have included visits to the Museum of Latin American Art, the Broad Art Foundation, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Getty, and the UCLA Hammer Museum of Art, where the interns have interviewed curators, critics, and conservators. In addition, the Gallery has offered other internships, such as the Peggy Phelps Internship, which was made available through the generosity of Peggy Phelps the Ludwick Art Conservation Internships, supported by the Sarah La Fetra Ludwick Preservation Fund and the Elizabeth Turk Conservation Internship, made possible through the support of Elizabeth Turk ’83.Īs well as organizing exhibitions and caring for the collection, interns at the Williamson Gallery explore different career possibilities in the arts.
